Merri Merri is the Woi Wurrung name for the nearby Merri Creek.
This project is located on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People.A simple addition to a double-fronted weatherboard house, Merri Merri is a contemporary home for a young family.
Ceiling changes to the addition define space and imbue them with their own character, a volumous dining space adjacent to a more intimate living room.
Brick Blade walls create an order and logic, defining space and orienting views to the north-facing garden.
Elements inserted within the existing building fabric bridge time. Providing a contemporary level of amenity, improved thermal performance, whilst also respecting the heritage of the existing building.
